About CAFLM
Since 2001, April has been designated as California Financial Literacy Month (“CAFLM”). This coordinated consumer education and outreach campaign encourages individuals to take full advantage of resources designed to improve financial literacy and increase decision making power. The 2013 theme: “Empowering Californians To Make Well-Informed Financial Decisions” highlights the importance of making educated and affordable financial decisions to achieve financial goals. In recognition of CAFLM 2013, campaign partners, including government agencies, banks and credit unions and community organizations, are promoting free resources regarding saving, money management, credit, investments and learn to avoid identity theft and elder financial abuse, protect their privacy, and steer clear of financial scams and fraud. As a statewide public awareness effort, CAFLM is the perfect opportunity for businesses and organizations to highlight their current financial literacy efforts or become involved in this important effort to make financial literacy education a priority. We encourage you to use and share the growing resources on this site.
